Chapter Nine Brothers Keeper

Samuel requires Hiro to travel back and find Suresh before he destroys a tape he wants in return for Charlie, weeks before we see Mihinder teaching students and seemingly with a girlfriend who wants him to get rid of a package which he does.

Tracey is wondering what her life would be like if she joined the carnival and discuses it with a waitress though soon freaks the woman out when she accidently freezes a cup.

Nathan has returned to office as senator along with Peter and within minutes The Haitian turns up to speak with Peter but warns Nathan to stay away from him, Peter is told to visit an address but he must go alone.

Later however he takes Nathan with him and they discover a frozen Nathan with his throat stitched upon touching it he has flashes of the day he died though he is unaware of what the flashes mean.
They then discover from Nathan secretary that Matt is in hospital in critical condition but Peter says he can heal him if they can just get to him.

Claire is freaked when she arrives at her dads to find the place broken in to but its only Tracey who wanted Noah help as she can no longer control her power so much so her hand begins to freeze over.

Claire runs Tracey a bath but she soon begins to freeze the water and she is more than a little freaked but not as much when minutes later Claire touches her and turns into a solid body of ice.
Trying to get Claire into the bath to melt her foot snaps off Tracey sobs over what she has become but is over come when Claire melts and is back as she was.

Mohinder decides to get the package back and when he opens it finds a tape of his father at the detention centre for people with abilities after a hard nights work working on his father’s equations he believes he can find the child that surrounds himself with other people’s abilities who is in fact of course Samuel.

Mohinder arrives at the carnival in search of Samuel but encounters his brother also who informs him that Samuel has no idea of what he is capable of and he intends to keep it that way not realising that Samuel is in fact listening outside.
Mohinder leaves and attempts to burn the film as he drops the match Hiro freezes time and takes the film.

Minutes later as time unfreezes Samuel arrives and threatens to kill him unless he tells him what was on the film but he refuses and Samuel goes to kill him with flying chunks of rock lucky for him Hiro placed a bullet proof vest on and he is still alive.
Hiro tells him he must go away until Charlie is safe but because he refuses he has no choice but to force Suresh into leaving by transporting him somewhere we later see Hiro has placed him in a mental hospital, while Hiro tells Samuel he did as he asked he refuses to release Charlie yet.

Tracey calls Samuel to tell him she will accept his offer and we seem them deep in conversation though we are not privy to what its about.

Peter and Nathan arrive to heal Matt which is what Syler wanted and he quickly regains control over Matt’s body and manages to persuade Nathan to touch him allowing him to transport himself back into his own body though Nathan isn’t aware yet.

Matt plays dead and as he is carried of to the morgue he controls the mind of the officer and persuades him to give him his clothes and to recall nothing.

Chapter 10 Thanks Giving

Samuel now has his hands on the film but his joy is short lived as Hiro bangs on his door wanting Charlie back but his demands fall on deaf ears as Samuel has changed his mind and is not ready to give her back its obvious he still has plans involving Hiro.

Noah is determined to cheer up Claire and wants her to join him at her mothers for thanksgiving dinner; he also bumps into his old colleague Lauren and wants her to join them for dinner.

Angela has arrived to share thanksgiving with Peter and Nathan but she doesn’t get the welcome she had hoped for when Peter confronts her on Nathans dead body in storage she tries to pass it off as a shape shifter but he is willing to listen to her lies and nor is Nathan who has now joined them, she is however unwilling to disclose anything until they have had dinner though Nathan might not last that long as his face is shifting into Syler.

Claire is a little surprised when she arrives for dinner with her dad and finds Lauren there though not as surprised over her mum’s new boyfriend who is over friendly with the dog, the dinner gets underway but in a less than comfortable way as Sandy and Lauren squabble over Noah’s past work.
The atmosphere causes Claire to become annoyed and drops the bombshell that she wants to drop out of school.

Hiro is not happy thanksgiving or not and his anger arouses suspicion with the others at the carnival who are curious to what Hiro had to do for Samuel i.e. with fixing the past, tattoo girl offers her body for answers but Hiro is only freaked by being confronted with a naked woman.
She asks Hiro why Samuel didn’t want his brother saved instead and asks him to take her back to the time when Joseph gets murdered.

Angela is determined to continue the farce4 of a family meal but the brothers only want answers she agrees going on to explain she hopes they continue as a family but Nathan looks undecided.

Samuel has become aware that Hiro has disappeared and we watch as he argued with his brother Joseph about keeping his powers secret, Hiro and tattoo girl are present as Samuel kills his own brother.
Samuel tells the carnival that someone is a traitor and the person is sat at the table Samuel accuses Edgar and goes to kill him but Hiro stops time preventing it but cannot allow Samuel to be killed as he is the only one to know where Charlie is.

The Bennet family argue around the table about her choices she is thinking about going to Samuel, matters are not helped when Sandy’s boyfriend continues to unintentionally wind her up and she makes him pass out as he watches her cut her wrist.
Claire is frustrated by the fact that everyone thinks they know how hard it is for her but Noah demands she stop acting like a child and think about what she is planning on doing, she is surprised however when Gretchen turns up presumably invited by Noah.
Gretchen and Claire talk and bond again even deciding upon them living together again.
The evening ends on a high note with Sandy’s boyfriend thinking he had a reaction to his peanut allergy, Claire and Gretchen friends again and Noah over all pleased, but Noah doesn’t know that Claire has taken the compass that will lead her to Samuel.

Peter, Nathan and Angela are talking and she realises that Syler is in there with Nathan suddenly Nathan is shook by electric shocks and out comes Syler, who forces them to sit at the table as he rambles on he tries to kill Angela but Nathan’s mind fights back and wins once again.

Samuel is determined to keep Hiro though he is threatening to leave so has his mind wiped of memories though something goes wrong and Hiro transports to find Watson?

Chapter Eleven - The Fifth Stage

Samuel asks his new right hand man who has the ability to be more than one to retrieve files from Noah who is himself working on piecing the clues together on the butterfly man, though he’s interrupted by Lauren who is there to pick him up on a date, though as he goes to show her the compass he finds it missing and knows it was Claire meaning the date is cancelled.

Lauren offers to help find her as she can help locate her now being a CIA agent, Claire is in fact already at the carnival with Gretchen and Samuel is quick to find her he tries to entice her by offering her free rides all night they come to an agreement that when she has finished her box of popcorn and looked around she can then leave.

Claire steps in to the tattoo girls tent they hold hands in order for Claire to see what she wants but only see’s a tattoo of indestructible girl they leave somewhat confused, they continue walking around the popcorn is near all gone and while Gretchen wishes to leave Claire is intrigued by Samuels offer to look backstage.

Angela visits Peter at the hospital trying to help him accept Nathans death but Peter along with The Hiatian is going to find Nathan and kill him if necessary, as Peter leaves he finds himself in a left with a nurse who turns out to be Syler the game of cat and mouse ensues.

Peter gets the first win by hitting Syler round the head and reveals he has taken The Hiatian’s abilities and can block Syler’s power and erase his mind Peter staples him to the floor with a nail gun all he wants is to have Nathan back body and soul but Syler seems to only find it amusing and will not give in that easily.
Peter manages to wipe some of Syler enough to get Nathan back

Noah is with Lauren and still and is trying to explain about his past with her before she had her mind erased they are soon interrupted by Samuel’s man while is multiplying at a alarming rate though Noah is prepared to fight its to late as the guy got the files he wanted and is gone.

Claire is enjoying Samuels stories and is surprised by seeing an old face Doyle who hopes to talk to her meanwhile Samuel wants her to tell the children of the carnival a story, Gretchen takes the opportunity to question Samuel as to what it is he wants but doesn’t get any clear answers.

Peter and Nathan are talking he is tired of fighting trying to get out but Peter thinks he can help by taking him somewhere the place where Peter first asked Nathan if he could fly and he denied it at the time, Peter asks him to keep fighting within himself against Syler but Nathan is tired and not capable of fighting him much longer nasty words spring out of his mouth and he goes to jump but Peter grabs his hand.

Nathan dangles and tells Pete to hang on keep fighting, Peters grasp slips and Nathan falls to his death in an eerie slow motion before crashing into a car roof but Syler emerges and walks off.

The man from a game earlier on that Claire and Gretchen watched has returned drunk wanting his money back believing he has been conned the man beats Samuel and Claire stands up for him she is cut but her healing freaks the guy out and he runs.

Samuel is being cleaned up by Claire and he does his best to persuade her that he knows what it is she wants and is searching for he offers her the chance to stay and surprising Gretchen she does just that, while Samuel reveals it is not Claire he is after and as Gretchen leaves we see the drunk guy dead in the back of a truck.

He talks to the others about planting roots, gathering all the people with abilities together and making a home, Claire listens and smiles.

Chapter Twelve - Upon This Rock

Tattoo girl Lydia is up to something giving Claire pancakes to deliver to Samuel and when she does he is somewhat startled and has to cover up a primotech box though she has clocked it.

Claire makes a point of saying she may stay or go and Samuel says its her choice though tells replica man that he is to ensure she does not leave, Claire knows she is being watched and questions tattoo girl on if she knows why Samuel wants her here she decides to go search Samuel's caravan but is stopped by replica man.

Hiro is in Caprica and while searching for his side kick see’s a woman being robbed and so grabs a knife to successfully return it though seconds later he is arrested by the police.
Ando arrives at the station to see Hiro but Hiro thinks he’s some guy named Sancho leaving Ando worried that his tumour is getting worse.
Hiro is talking in riddles using cartoons and stories as metaphors luckily Ando believes he knows what he is trying to say.

Emma is disappointed to be informed that she has been turned down for medical school upon arriving home Samuel visits here and reveals he is the one who sent her the cello, though she doesn’t trust him she eventually invites him in she discovers that the cello didn’t cause the crack in her wall but her own emotions and Samuel wants her to let go of them and help him find someone.

Claire can find no escape from replica man as he continues to follow her she heads into the room of mirrors and cleverly manages to trick him and knock him out enabling her to look at the files stolen from her dad in Samuels’s caravan, though she has new problems when the puppet man Doyle arrives and controls her.

Puppet man is hell bent on stopping her from ruining Samuels plan even though he isn’t sure what it is he is sure it will be of benefit

Ando works out that Hiro is trying to get to a Florida hospital but the reason why is still unclear.

Samuel has Emma play the cello in the park to draw in the man he seeks to which the plan works and he arrives they take to the hospital Emma leaves but not before Samuel gives her a compass to find the carnival and Samuel leaves with the man though on his way out he sees that senator Patrelli has died in an aeroplane crash.

Claire is still pinned to the caravan by Doyle who is growing so weak he has to let her go and tells her to see Lydia who knows something when Claire confronts her she admits Samuel brother Joseph was like a father and they all miss him and reveals it was Samuel who killed him and she needs to find someone to stop him.

Unfortunately replica man finds her and takes her to Samuel, Claire confronts him over killing Joseph - he plays the innocent that she is free to leave and the only reason he killed his brother was because he was going to turn all the people with abilities in to the authorities.

Claire demands to know what is going on in the valley and he takes her there where the man he found earlier is who needs water to which Samuel from the ground rises up and the man then turns the dry earth into green grass, Samuel and Claire are both shocked to see green hills and flowers, Samuel reveals it will be their new home.

Claire thinks though it is beautiful she already has a home and wishes to return to it she checks her phone to hear messages from her dad and Peter who tells her to call him as soon as possible as something has happened, she arrives in time for Nathan her real dads funeral where she tells Noah that she will not give the compass back hinting that she may return.

Chapter Thirteen - Let It Bleed

Peter is meeting with Noah wanting to see Nathan’s real body later at the wake he continues the farce that his brother died in an accident,
Samuel is inking to get a picture of Tracey when suddenly Doyle comes flying at him because Syler is back and thrown him across the carnival, Syler pins Samuel to his caravan and tries to slice his head open but Samuel stops him by swirling dirt around his face and literally ripping half his face off.

Noah visits Claire to offer her a lift but she is extremely angry at him for being put in the position that she thought Syler was dead when all along he was Nathan and she even hugged him.

Later Peters mother Angela asks if she is ok but its clear he’s mad about the whole situation he takes Claire to one side while with her she cuts herself and doesn’t heal because Peter still has The Haitians powers she is pleased to feel pain for once though.

Noah arrives home but isn’t alone as there is something outside his window it turns out to be dagger man Edgar but as he gets close Noah turns around and tasers him, Noah goes to see a Chinese man in a restaurant and meets his old partner there who has at his request brought some truth serum which is for Edgar.

Syler has been put into Lydia’s trailer as Samuel wants her to find things out for him she is clearly unhappy but has little choice and so returns to her caravan to find out what is wrong with him and why he was unable to kill Samuel.

They end up kissing and from this she pictures his memories and learns he is lonely,
Syler learns something about her also the fact she wants to kill Samuel angry at her words he leaves.

Angela asks Claire to help Peter grieve by being a shoulder for him as she heads up to the roof to talk, she finds he has left after listening to a police radio transmission she follows him there where they help a woman who is injured.

Peter leaves Claire looking after the woman while he goes to talk to the gunman at first he seems to be getting through to him but then is suddenly shot the man is captured but Peter is on a trolley heading for hospital though after him and Claire talk about the wrongs and the rights of what he is doing she heals him.
Claire begs him to accept what has happened and Peter admits that he misses Nathan so much but

Noah is questioning Edgar in the freezer of the restaurant and wants to know what Samuel wants with Claire and where he is after a talk from his fellow friend who suggest he try talking to him rather than torturing him Noah agrees.
Edgar reveals that he has been exiled from the carnival he had hoped to capture Noah in the hope of being accepted back into the fold as he is scared what he will do to his friends they come to an agreement to work together.

Samuel speaks to Syler and offers his friendship despite the fact he tried to kill him Samuel also reveals he is searching for Vanessa whom he loves; Syler requests a tattoo which will decide whether he stays or goes.
Samuel injects Syler with ink and as we see the ink move through his body and down his arm we are not shown what they see only Samuels’s words of “isn’t that interesting? And Syler saying “I guess I’m not meant to be here after all.”

Noah is talking with Edgar and trying to come up with a plan but Edgar has other plans and manages to escape taking Noah’s plan with him Noah is left unsure of what to do and how is best to protect Claire, he tries to call her but we see Claire reject his phone call while Syler is outside her window watching.

Chapter 14 Close To You

Noah is desperate to find out about Samuel even searching as far back as his child hood finally he gets a lead through a picture of a woman named Vanessa who was pictured with him when she hangs up on him he knows she knows something and has to travel to California to question her.

Samuel himself is back at the carnival with Lydia he’s still drawing pictures of his lost love Vanessa and needs Lydia to get him more ink she questions him about his motives and talking to another girl she makes it clear they need a new leader as Samuel is planning something big and he cant be trusted, she thinks she knows someone who can help.

We then see Peter wake in pain as the compass on his forearm appears and spins, later Peter hears music and recognises it as Emma’s music he arrives at her apartment and she is so pleased that her music contacted him by thought and music, noticing the compass on the chello he shows Emma his tattoo.
Emma also shows him the compass Samuel gave her back at his flat when his mother Angela arrives and question Peter how he knows Emma.

Matt is at home being a stay at home father his wife is worried he is scared to go out when she leaves Noah appears and is not warmly welcomed he isn’t all that welcoming to the idea of helping Noah with his problem of Samuel either.

Hiro and Ando have arrived at the mental hospital where Mohinder is Hiro is checking in as a mental patient so he can ascertain where the Dr Suresh is.
Ando visits Hiro to see what he knows and reveals Suresh is being drugged Ando manages to swap the drugs intended for Suresh

Noah takes Matt to meet Vanessa and confronts her about Samuel she denies knowing him but Matt makes her change her mind and she decides to open up and admits she is worried about him she reveals Samuel keeps visiting her spouting all sorts Noah gets her to ring Samuel.
Samuel arrives to collect her along with multiplying man who mange to confuse Matt and Noah they are to late and Vanessa is driven off.

Peter questions his mum why she doesn’t like Emma Angela reveals that she had a dream where she saw Emma help kill hundreds of people and she uses the chello to do it Peter wants to save his friend but his mother warns that you cannot save everyone.

Dr Suresh wakes up to find Hiro shouting at him through the cell door using his strength Suresh breaks free from his cell and the pair are both then on the run but not before making a stop to get Ando who is experiencing the full effects of the drugs though he still mages to help them escape.

Noah and Matt have been tailing Samuel and Vanessa but when they arrive at the site where the signal states she is the area is empty with only a carnival poster floating around, Matt returns home to continue cooking and tells Noah to forget it and go home to hug his little girl.

Peter dreams of Emma being at the carnival while crying and playing the chello and then Syler arrives stating he came to help her, Peter instantly goes to Emma and smashes the chello she doesn’t understand or believe him that something bad will happen and its connected to the chello she orders him to leave.

Hiro, Ando and Suresh are still on the run with the hospital chasing them with dogs they run through water, woods they stop when Suresh tells Ando to use his power to help Hiro teleport them out of there.

Noah takes Matt’s advice and visits Claire to try and build broken bridges which has been mentioned more than once she is busy though and tells him they can talk later, Noah goes home to have a drink, Lauren arrives stating she saw the light on he admits he cares for her but its all so complicated they kiss and surprised when Hiro, Ando and Suresh appear – “Hello boys”

Matt is at home having dinner with his family but cannot help feel he has let so many people down and he should have done so much more especially with Syler.

At the carnival is Vanessa being guarded by replica man Samuel tells her it wasn’t meant to be like this he didn’t want to take her but he knew Noah had got in her head he promises once he’s shown her something if she still wants to leave she can.

Chapter 15 Pass/Fail

Claire is clearly feeling down and despite Gretchen offering her ears Claire isn’t ready to talk and leaves as she does Syler asks Gretchen if the seat is taken.
When Claire arrives at her class she finds Syler she asks what he is doing there to which he reply’s he came to learn as they talk Syler reveals she can help him and fix him she refuses but when she learns he has Gretchen she changes her mind.

Syler tries to convince her that they have a lot in common and yet are so different she goes to leave but he forces her to fall and gives her the choice of helping him voluntary or he will force her and so he uses what Lydia showed him and kisses her to find out what he needs to know.
They continue to talk in a hostile manner and when Syler confronts her about her sexuality she takes the opportunity to stab him in the eye with a pencil leaving him rolling on the floor in pain

Noah is working with Suresh to help somebody and Hiro is feeling ill he passes out and wakes to find himself in a dream world where his old friend Adam is the prosecuting lawyer and his father is the judge, he is on trial for using his powers for personal gain, in reality Hiro is being rushed into hospital

Vanessa wants to leave and isn’t impressed by Samuels gift of a dress he tries to reminisce about old times they shared he then try’s to persuade her to stay for breakfast but she believes one thing will just lead to another but eventually aggress to stay till after they eat.

Vanessa and Samuel talk in a café and share a milkshake its clear she is starting to warm to him they head back to the carnival and dream about her ideal home with rocking chairs on the porch he then shows her a picture he drew of that same home he takes her to the fields and cottage that he has built.

Despite all he has done she cannot live there she states its his fantasy and her life isn’t here with him she kisses him passionately but she has broken his heart and cant get away quick enough.

Hiro is still on trial for messing with the space time continuum every person who has ever had anything to do with Hiro is put on the stand to speak against Hiro with no options Ando puts Hiro on the stand to describe how things happened why he made the decisions he made he admits sometimes he made bad choices but it was all in the hope of making the world a better place, his father the judge gives the verdict of guilty and in reality Hiro’s heart is crashing.

He wakes again to lift himself off the hospital bed and is meted by everyone from the court he walks through them and then asks to change his plea to guilty he then has to fight against Adam for his honour meanwhile Ando in reality is telling Hiro to fight, Hiro wins and kills Adam by sword and is then face to face with a vision of his mother who has come to heal him.

Hiro’s doctors are amazed as is Ando to find that Hiro once again has a pulse

Claire rescues Gretchen but it is far from over as Syler tries to flush them out by blowing up their room they hide in a cupboard and Claire opens up that she’s scared of being alone but doesn’t want to get hurt and freakily Gretchen’s face turns into Sylers he got what he wanted and so then leaves.
Claire finds the real Gretchen and hugs her and tells her how lucky she is to have her they head of hand in hand to talk while Syler watches on.

Samuel is back in the café he was earlier and scares the waitress half to death by shouting at her for the way she is looking at him he states he is sick of it and from now on they will play by his rules next thing the entire café and town sink into the ground while he returns to his caravan.

Matt’s wife opens the door to Syler and wants to know where he is pretending to be a friend Matt’s wife asks if they have met before and the episode ends with Syler having an evil look in his eye which suggest he could have some fun here.

Chapter sixteen -The Art of Deception

The carnival is closed after they all saw Samuel sink the town but he isn’t happy that they don’t trust him anymore and instead are looking towards Lydia.

After touching Angela’s arm Peter is experiencing the dreams his mother usually has he repeatedly see’s Emma playing the chello and hundreds of people panicked and Syler who claims he is there to save her.

Matt arrives home to find Syler in his home and that his wife has been in his company believing they are friends and has even made them lunch so Matt and he can catch up, Syler wants Matt to go inside his head again and take his powers away Matt cant believe what he is asking but after his wife and child are threatened he has no choice but to say yes.

Gretchen has dropped Claire off at her dads so they can discuss everything that has been going on recently she is a little surprised to find her dads partner Lauren there though and her dads not, she is not happy when she discovers all the maps and the fact that he is clearly working again.

She is also surprised to find out that Samuel has sunk a town she leaves clearly annoyed

Peter visits his mum who is struggling to find the words for Nathan headstone he asks her if she also saw Syler trying to help Emma but she warns him Syler is not his friend even if he can save Emma she warns him not to go but he has already decided.

Claire is in turmoil over the carnival and Samuel she talks to Gretchen but she is not understanding in the least and wont even lend her car she tells Claire she wanted a normal life so let her dad handle it.

Noah is calling Claire but she isn’t picking up and he cant wait he knows he has to deal with Samuel meanwhile Claire has headed for the carnival to speak to Lydia unaware that they are being listened to by replica man, Samuel quickly appears and admits he never meant to do what he did.

Samuel cant believe his family are turning against him and despite Claire’s pleas to turn himself in, Claire rings her dad not knowing that he is in fact watching the carnival through a sniper she tells him Samuel will turn himself in as long as the others are left alone unhurt.

Lauren states that she will meet Samuel first out in the field while Noah watches through the sniper but before Samuel can leave he speaks to the carnival about his actions have brought an agent to their door but they are safe without warning shots are fired repeatedly one hitting Samuel and another Claire its clear that it isn’t Noah firing.

Matt is attempting to enters Syler head but it isn’t working it seems to be causing Matt pain Syler believes he can do it at that moment Matt’s wife walks in and she is thrown against the wall Syler threatens he will hurt her if he doesn’t do as he is being asked, Matt tries to convince Syler to stop he does but states this is the last chance, Matt attempts it one more time flicking through Syler’s life and manages to bury Syle’rs powers and states Syler will what know what has happened to him by the time he leaves he will be alone and scared for the rest of his life.

Matt then proceeds to bury Syler behind a brick wall but is interrupted by Peter knocking at the door he takes Matt’s power but Peter wants him so he can help Emma and uses Matt’s power to go in Syler’s head and undo the damaged but he finds himself in an empty city walking the streets

Noah clocks the replica man shooting on the carnival as he shoots the guy disappears and as Noah turns around he is hit round the head meanwhile Lauren is alone she watches as replica man carries Noah’s body away wanting to shoot but finds herself unable to..

Lydia has also been shot she knows that this is all Samuels doing but he states they needed an evil worse than him to win them over he pretends to be upset over her death in front of Claire and the others, at that moment Noah is dragged into the carnival he tells Claire is wasn’t him but the others have nothing but hate towards him.

Claire is carried away against her will to Samuels caravan she pleads to Samuel not knowing it was all his doing.

Emma has arrived at the carnival to help tend to Samuel’s wounds and help him continue his plans to show everyone how great they can all be, Lauren meanwhile tries to ring Tracey who Noah told to call if anything went wrong.

Everyone is looking towards Samuel for answers he goes on to make a speech about his mistakes but the bigger picture is the normal people on the outside who have struck their family and its time they fought back.

Chapter 14 - Close To You

Samuel himself is back at the carnival with Lydia he’s still drawing pictures of his lost love Vanessa and needs Lydia to get him more ink she questions him about his motives and talking to another girl she makes it clear they need a new leader as Samuel is planning something big and he cant be trusted, she thinks she knows someone who can help.

We then see Peter wake in pain as the compass on his forearm appears and spins, later Peter hears music and recognises it as Emma’s music he arrives at her apartment and she is so pleased that her music contacted him by thought and music, noticing the compass on the chello he shows Emma his tattoo.
Emma also shows him the compass Samuel gave her back at his flat when his mother Angela arrives and question Peter how he knows Emma.

Matt is at home being a stay at home father his wife is worried he is scared to go out when she leaves Noah appears and is not warmly welcomed he isn’t all that welcoming to the idea of helping Noah with his problem of Samuel either.

Hiro and Ando have arrived at the mental hospital where Mohinder is, Hiro is checking in as a mental patient so he can ascertain where the Dr Suresh is.
Ando visits Hiro to see what he knows and reveals Suresh is being drugged Ando manages to swap the drugs intended for Suresh

Noah takes Matt to meet Vanessa and confronts her about Samuel she denies knowing him but Matt makes her change her mind and she decides to open up and admits she is worried about him she reveals Samuel keeps visiting her spouting all sorts Noah gets her to ring Samuel.
Samuel arrives to collect her along with multiplying man who mange to confuse Matt and Noah they are to late and Vanessa is driven off.

Peter questions his mum why she doesn’t like Emma Angela reveals that she had a dream where she saw Emma help kill hundreds of people and she uses the chello to do it Peter wants to save his friend but his mother warns that you cannot save everyone.

Dr Suresh wakes up to find Hiro shouting at him through the cell door using his strength Suresh breaks free from his cell and the pair are both then on the run but not before making a stop to get Ando who is experiencing the full effects of the drugs though he still mages to help them escape.

Noah and Matt have been tailing Samuel and Vanessa but when they arrive at the site where the signal states she is the area is empty with only a carnival poster floating around, Matt returns home to continue cooking and tells Noah to forget it and go home to hug his little girl.

Peter dreams of Emma being at the carnival while crying and playing the chello and then Syler arrives stating he came to help her, Peter instantly goes to Emma and smashes the chello she doesn’t understand or believe him that something bad will happen and its connected to the chello she orders him to leave.

Hiro, Ando and Suresh are still on the run with the hospital chasing them with dogs they run through water, woods they stop when Suresh tells Ando to use his power to help Hiro teleport them out of there.

Noah takes Matt’s advice and visits Claire to try and build broken bridges which has been mentioned more than once she is busy though and tells him they can talk later, Noah goes home to have a drink, Lauren arrives stating she saw the light on he admits he cares for her but its all so complicated they kiss and surprised when Hiro, Ando and Suresh appear – “Hello boys”

Matt is at home having dinner with his family but cannot help feel he has let so many people down and he should have done so much more especially with Syler.

At the carnival is Vanessa being guarded by replica man Samuel tells her it wasn’t meant to be like this he didn’t want to take her but he knew Noah had got in her head he promises once he’s shown her something if she still wants to leave she can.

Chapter 15 - Pass/Fail

Claire is clearly feeling down and despite Gretchen offering her ears Claire isn’t ready to talk and leaves as she does Syler asks Gretchen if the seat is taken.
When Claire arrives at her class she finds Syler she asks what he is doing there to which he reply’s he came to learn as they talk Syler reveals she can help him and fix him she refuses but when she learns he has Gretchen she changes her mind.

Syler tries to convince her that they have a lot in common and yet are so different she goes to leave but he forces her to fall and gives her the choice of helping him voluntary or he will force her and so he uses what Lydia showed him and kisses her to find out what he needs to know.
They continue to talk in a hostile manner and when Syler confronts her about her sexuality she takes the opportunity to stab him in the eye with a pencil leaving him rolling on the floor in pain

Noah is working with Suresh to help somebody and Hiro is feeling ill he passes out and wakes to find himself in a dream world where his old friend Adam is the prosecuting lawyer and his father is the judge, he is on trial for using his powers for personal gain, in reality Hiro is being rushed into hospital

Vanessa wants to leave and isn’t impressed by Samuels gift of a dress he tries to reminisce about old times they shared he then try’s to persuade her to stay for breakfast but she believes one thing will just lead to another but eventually aggress to stay till after they eat.

Vanessa and Samuel talk in a café and share a milkshake its clear she is starting to warm to him they head back to the carnival and dream about her ideal home with rocking chairs on the porch he then shows her a picture he drew of that same home he takes her to the fields and cottage that he has built.

Despite all he has done she cannot live there she states its his fantasy and her life isn’t here with him she kisses him passionately but she has broken his heart and cant get away quick enough.

Hiro is still on trial for messing with the space time continuum every person who has ever had anything to do with Hiro is put on the stand to speak against Hiro with no options Ando puts Hiro on the stand to describe how things happened why he made the decisions he made he admits sometimes he made bad choices but it was all in the hope of making the world a better place, his father the judge gives the verdict of guilty and in reality Hiro’s heart is crashing.

He wakes again to lift himself off the hospital bed and is meted by everyone from the court he walks through them and then asks to change his plea to guilty he then has to fight against Adam for his honour meanwhile Ando in reality is telling Hiro to fight, Hiro wins and kills Adam by sword and is then face to face with a vision of his mother who has come to heal him.

Hiro’s doctors are amazed as is Ando to find that Hiro once again has a pulse

Claire rescues Gretchen but it is far from over as Syler tries to flush them out by blowing up their room they hide in a cupboard and Claire opens up that she’s scared of being alone but doesn’t want to get hurt and freakily Gretchen’s face turns into Syler’s he got what he wanted and so then leaves.
Claire finds the real Gretchen and hugs her and tells her how lucky she is to have her they head of hand in hand to talk while Syler watches on.

Samuel is back in the café he was earlier and scares the waitress half to death by shouting at her for the way she is looking at him he states he is sick of it and from now on they will play by his rules next thing the entire café and town sink into the ground while he returns to his caravan.

Matt’s wife opens the door to Syler and wants to know where he is pretending to be a friend Matt’s wife asks if they have met before and the episode ends with Syler having an evil look in his eye which suggest he could have some fun here.
